In the Jungle

>> Sunday, July 31, 2016

Hi all, today I have a funny little card.

I started by using a circle die to cut the hole in the front of the card. Then I stamped two Palm Trees.  The It's a jungle out there. use stamped on a separate piece of cs and sponged the edges. The Hang in there Monkey was stamped on the inside.

Then I stamped the top of the Palm Tree across the top with plenty of room to wright a note.

Have a wonderful day,

Hooked on You!

>> Saturday, July 30, 2016

Good morning friends!

It has been hotter than heck here for a week or more and expected to stay that way!!! Yikes!
So, I have a nice cool card for summer weather...what could be better than a glassy blue lake with trout jumping about!  I think it is a mountain lake too, nice an cool!

There are clouds in my sky but ratzola, you can not see them!
So I started by making a frame the size of the card (4 1/4 X 5 1/2) and then cut the rectangle out of the center.  Using my stamp aligner, I lined the new ruler stamp, (916H Ruler) on the sides then masked off the ends of the ruler and stamped the ruler top and bottom.  I used Tea Stain Distress ink and sponged the edges, especially the corners.  I also took a darker Copic Marker and colored in the space just inside the rulers to look like a darker mat.
I stamped and colored my image (351L Jumping Fish) and popped my frame up over it.  I then stamped my pole (270G Fishing Pole) and sentiment (1103D Hooked On You) separately and fussy cut the pole and used a die for the sentiment.
I glued the pole down onto the frame and let the line stay free (just in case that fish bites, LOL).  I also glued the sentiment down like a placket, after sponging with Tea Stain.
I used Stickles Crystal on the fish.
That's it, done!  This would make a great guy card, don't you think?  Well, my hubby would love it anyway, he is a fisherman!
Thanks for visiting today!!

A Hug Measures Up

>> Friday, July 29, 2016

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! Deciding how to use this fab new Ruler image was sure a conundrum until I saw Karin's card earlier this week. Of course! I remembered I have a ruler embossing folder...it may even be SAME ruler folder Karin used. The folder is in a vertical orientation but I turned the paper the other way to emboss it horizontally.
After I stamped the ruler onto all the strips of colored card stock & cut them out, I started looking around for a greeting & found this Hug greeting. Since it mentions size, I thought it might fit in well w/ the ruler.  For the inside, I paired the Hug reference to the 4 in 1 Hug Words & used the 4 in 1 Arrows to highlight the measuring factor on the rulers. I just love it when you struggle w/ something & then it comes together like it was made that way!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Jungle Selfie

>> Wednesday, July 27, 2016

I was so impressed with Julie and Sheila's selfie cards (like this one called Mack the Knife by Julie and this one called Birthday Bubbles by Sheila) so I decided to try one too.

I used the Jimbo and Gang image, the Jungle Out There greeting, and the Leafy Tree Branch image. I water-colored the animals, branches and background and added a few twisted lines.  What a fun sketch/technique to play with.  I will be making more!

Many hugz,

Nancy

CAS Thank U

>> Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Hi Everyone,

I have a clean and simple thank you card to share with you today.  It uses the Ruler stamp from the most recent release and I'm thinking it would be a great stamp for any sewing enthusiast or even a teacher.  I'm sure no one is ready to hear about back to $(#@@! yet, so notice I'm not mentioning it :) :) :)   Let's enjoy the summer while we can, right?

Anyway, I stamped the ruler on yellow card stock, heat embossed it using clear embossing powder, and did some easy peasy fussy cutting.  I dry embossed my white background and die cut a punny sentiment using alphabet dies.  The hardest part was trying to line up the letters.  I'd like to tell you I used that ruler to make sure the letters were straight, but I ended up just eyeballing it after I attached the ruler with dimensional foam tape.

Be sure to join us for our color challenge this week!  Details can be found here.

Thanks for stopping by!
Karin

Happy Birthday

>> Monday, July 25, 2016

I created this card for my grandson's birthday. It's a trifold card. I started with the dark blue CS and used the SB Contemporary Strip die to cut the front panel. The Snorkel frog image was stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS, colored with Copics, fussy cut and attached to the blue panel with some glue. My grandson enjoys swimming so I think he'll get a kick out of this frog image. Here's a look at the front panel opened a bit.

The next fold is light blue CS with the Jumpin' at the Chance greeting stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink.

The inside is white CS with the Happy Birthday greeting from the Birthday Multi Greeting stamped in Versafine Black Onyx ink.

I thought about adding something inside with the greeting, but wanted to keep it more simple and on the masculine side, since it's for my grandson.

Thanks for stopping by,
shelia

Sailing on the Tide of Love

>> Sunday, July 24, 2016

Hi all, this card is for my oldest grandson he turned 16 on Friday, where has the time gone? To tell you what a great young man he is becoming he comes up in the morning and we go for a walk then talk over coffee. These talks are pure gold for me and I will treasure them forever.

I made a shaker card. I started by stamping the Adirondack Chair and coloring with Copic markers then die cutting with the inside the box technique. For the shaker part I use two sheets of acetate cut larger than the cut out. I used foam tape on all four sides then added the sequins and glitter then added the other sheet of acetate. I stamped the Sailboat then colored with Copic's. The Small 1 Line Happy Birthday was stamped and  die cut.

For the inside I use the Family and Friends Birthday Greeting and the 4 in 1 Seashells.

On the back I used the one of my favorites Share My Heart.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Hang In There

>> Saturday, July 23, 2016

Good morning!

I wanted to try out the reverse image technique with this little monkey guy and I like it.
He is a cutie!

I used my Misti and a special piece of plain rubber (made to go in the Misti) to do the reverse image of 892F Hang In There Monkey.
My accessories are ribbon, and pearls!  I used dies from ODBD to cut the layers and
foam tape to pop the frame up.
The monkey on the frame was done using the out of the box technique in reverse as well.
I sponged the white with Distress Inks in Shabby Shutters and Moss Forest using an open pore type sponge.
I see this as a guy card, probably because of the colors but also I think most guys are kinda monkeys...don't you think?  Heehee!
Thanks for visiting today!!

>> Friday, July 22, 2016

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! So funny..after my selfie card last week, Splitcoast had a selfie challenge & I love a challenge..I also can't seem to get enough of these cute stamp selfies in their little polaroid frames. This time I have Mack the shark. Also funny, as I started this card, Mack the Knife was playing on my iPod so I guess it was fate.

So Mack the shark was stamped, colored, masked & the beach scene stamped behind it & also colored. I added the die cut polaroid frame & added some die cut palms, a little camera & the circle cut greeting.

Here's a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.
